The ISMSKF would like to extend congratulations to Shihan Greg Lazarus on turning 65 years old. On August 25, 2010 Grandmaster Fusei Kise awarded Shihan Greg Lazarus a Grandmaster Certificate. This was signed by Grandmaster Fusei Kise and Kaicho Isao Kise. Grandmaster Kise made a point of telling Shihan Lazarus this certificate was #1. He also asked Shihan Lazarus to wait to make it public until he was older and at 65 he felt it was time.
On May 4, 2000 Grandmaster Kise had previously awarded Shihan Lazarus an Honorary 10th Dan Certificate. Shihan Lazarus decided to wait to make it public and then decided it was time when he turned 65.
Master Kise said, “There can only be one 10th Dan (one Grandmaster) per style.“ Grandmaster Fusei Kise is the Grandmaster of Shorin-ryu Matsumura Seito Karate and Kobudo, as recognized by the Japanese government. With this Shihan Lazarus made the statement, “As for my rank …more knowledge, strengthening my performance and being a more effective teacher; is my next rank and goal! Nobody needs to be concerned about my rank. Nothing changes and I still prefer to use and be called by my title of Shihan. Perfection through repetition: train hard, train strong & train often. That’s the recipe for everybody!”
The ISMSKF is very proud to have Shihan Lazarus as one of the Executive Directors and sharing his knowledge and experience with all of us.
